history

Village Dance Theatre began in 1974 in the Little Colonel Playhouse in Pewee Valley. It was originally a branch of Lyndon Ballet School, directed by Pat Hale Gano. For several years it was the ballet school for Waldeck Academy of the Arts. We've had a full time home since 1997 and opened the new, bigger studio space in August 2010.
